Jason 2 12" Action Figure Jason. That name is very special to all us gorehounds. We get a cchhh, cchhh, cchhh, aaahh, aaahh, aaahh tingly feeling all over. And no one knows this tingly feeling better than Sideshow Collectibles who have produced another masterpiece with their 12" action figure of Jason from Jason II. Many horror neophytes just immediately envision the hockey mask when conversations turn toward Mrs. Voorhees favorite son. But as any true Friday the 13th fan knows, our first real time spent with Jason was in Friday the 13th Part II and Jason initially wore a simple, yet spooky as hell, white burlap sack over his extremely disfigured melon. As usual the articulation is first rate with full mobility joints at the ankle, knee, hips, wrist, elbow, shoulder and neck. And for ridiculous mobility measure, they throw in twist joints above the ankle, thigh, forearm, bicep, and torso. There isn't any murderous rampaging position you can't get Jason into. Yes, we did feel odd unhooking Jason's overalls to get a look at the articulation. But we do these things for you. No matter how f'in twisted we look out in public undressing our deformed dolly. Moving along, we quickly put Jason's clothes back on. And again, super quality in those, as well as those little extras that make us giggle with glee. Denim overalls with snaps, little front hooks and subtle dirt and blood staining. Just like any good pair of serial-killer worn overalls. That's a detergent commercial we'd like to see. A nice heavy material is used for the checkered shirt with snaps throughout and removable plastic boots. Jason's mask this go-round is the aforementioned burlap sack with one eye cut out and a twine cord tied around the neck. Be sure when you get a hold of this bad boy that you take the sack off to get a good look at this head sculpt. It's hideous -- lumpy noggin, mismatched eyes, half missing ear and sparse red hair sticking out all over the place. It's a thing of beauty! We cannot wait to introduce him to Barbie! The packaging is a high-quality window box with front panel that closes with Velcro. Standard for these figures from Sideshow. And another nice touch is the stand that comes with each of these as well. If you’re a Jason fan, this is a must add to your collection. Sideshow once again hits it out of the park for horror fans. ~~~~~ Valarie Thorpe is the proprietor of this here Really Scary Tavern and has written for such other fine publications as Studies in Modern Horror, PopMatters, Beckett Sci Fi Collectibles and Animated Life.
