as Film & Comic Series
Each DVD will feature an original short film, behind the scenes material, interviews, music videos, bloopers, and an original digest-sized comic packed inside the DVD case. Each issue of the series will alternate formats; even numbered issues being released as a traditional comic book featuring cutting-edge, original stories and artwork from the hottest creators in horror. Odd numbered issues will showcase both comic books and ground breaking DVD material. "Joe and I have been plotting this out for over a year," said Fisher, "and we don’t think there’s anything out there like this. I had been in talks with DH Publishing and Bunkasha to do Flowers on the Razorwire as a film series for Japan, starring Japanese actors in American productions. They were more interested in doing each short as a stand alone rather than as the Flowers series concept. But Joe loved the idea, that’s why we’re doing the adaptation of his short story Chance Meeting for the first issue. Nobody else in comics is doing anything like this." "I’ve come up with my own variation on the Crypt Keeper for this," Fisher explains. "Her name is Flower, and she is a psychotic dominatrix who stalks the S&M trades looking for a victim. When she finds one, she ties them up and tortures them before forcing them to tell her a story. The catch? it has to be scary enough to save their life. And I’ve found the best person to play this role, adult film actress Wanda Curtis, a beautiful Hungarian model with enough onscreen charisma and sex appeal to sizzle your eyebrows off. Plus we’ve got all new music videos by Tuscaurora and original music by PBK and The IV’s." The first short film in the series, Chance Meeting is the story of Yuko, a woman who finds herself trapped in an elevator with a boiler repair man who may or may not be what he seems. Yuko, a young, pretty Asian tenant living in a Los Angeles apartment building, doesn't think the man trapped with her looks the part. His boots are unscuffed, his hands are clean and his fingernails free of grease or dirt. The tool belt cinched around his waist and the tools dangling from it look almost brand new, and he seems fixated on one subject: the brutal serial killer who has been terrorizing Los Angeles for nearly two months on a bloody rampage. In fact, thinks Yuko, this repair man knows an awful lot about the grisly string of murders...and why does he seem to be bragging about the killer's prowess? Chance Meeting was a hit at the 2003 New York City Horror Film Festival and stormed through Japan with a dvd release and a full color making of the movie hardcover picture book published by DH Publishing and available only in Japan. The comic books series will tap the talents of Dimitri Patelis, Ken Meyer Jr., Wayne Allen Sallee, James Helkowski, Gary Francis, Joseph Monks, Hart D. Fisher, Anthony Ruggerio, Chris Burns, Michael Wulf, Ju Gomez, Ryan Mojica, and more. "We’re looking for the best and the hungriest creators out there in underground film. If you’ve got something potent, drop us a line and we’ll look at it. Right now we’ve recruited make up effects wizard Ralis (Marylin Manson, Faust, The Dentist 2) about some of his material and some of the guys associated with Moo Dude Films. We’re dead serious about making this a major blow-up success." To send your short film to Boneyard Press, email Hart D. Fisher at: bonedaddy777@earthlink.net or call: 818 720-1565.
