Stephen King & Peter Straub On Talisman Sequel
The Associated Press reports (picked up via the sensational email newsletter Dark Echo) that Stephen King and Peter Straub are planning a sequel to The Talisman. "Our intention is to make the story a little harder and darker than the first book, more horror than fantasy," said Straub. The two authors have signed a multimillion-dollar deal for the still-untitled novel, which will be published by Random House and is expected to come out in 2001. The Talisman was published in 1984 and tells the story of 13-year-old Jack Sawyer's quest for a talisman that will save his mother's life. The new book is expected to portray Jack as an adult.

From the HorrorOnline site comes this: Tim Burton, while speaking to Howard Stern, displayed his unhappiness with not only the 'R' rating his upcoming Sleepy Hollow has received, but also with the film's poster. Author's Website Blocked In Many Schools
David J. Schow tells the Dark Echo Newsletter: "Thanks to an overload of stupidity in Colorado involving nitwits with firearms, many people who tried to visit my Web site, BLACK LEATHER REQUIRED (at http://www.gothic.net/~chromo), from school computers found their access prohibited by screening software that blocked out *anything* containing the word *gothic*. So much for Poe, I guess. So much for architecture, or the 12th through 16th centuries.

"Let's just skip past the sheer moronic, clown-shoed imbecility of this notion and cut directly to a solution, that is to say, the back door for those of you out there who might be culturally oppressed. Go to: http://www.melancholy-baby.com/~chromo
