Very Candid Stephen King On Writing Problems Since Accident
In an interview with NBC's Katie Couric, Stephen King says he has had to start from scratch as a write since he was struck by a van last June. "There was this one awful minute when I sat there and I thought, 'I can't do this. I don't know how to do this anymore,'' The Associated Press previewed the intervied and they suggest that King has had much more difficulty writing than was previously revealed. In late July, he said he had begun writing an hour-and-a-half a day. "At first it was as if I'd never done this in my life," he is quoted as saying. "It was like starting over again from square one." King also said he is just happy to be alive.

In more King news, Publishers Weekly reports that his latest work will be an audiobook, Blood and Smoke, that will be released with no print counterpart. It consists of three stories, two of them original, all on the theme of cigarette smoking. Read by King himself, the audio runs three and a half hours, and will be published by Simon & Schuster on casette and CD Nov. 22.

Freddy and/or Jason Movie Moving Forward

But who knows, they made Freddy cool again, maybe they could do the same with Jason. Whichever film receives a greenlight is expected to be released by the end of 2000.

Joss Whedon Reveals Doyle's Destiny on Angel
EON magazine reports (via Zentertainment) that the fate of Angel's Doyle is no longer in question. (If you don't want to know, stop reading now.)

Angel creator Joss Whedon has confirmed that the character of Doyle (actor David Quinn) will die in episode nine. "Well, our big surprise has been ruined," said Whedon, "We had a thing going where we were gonna take away [Angel's] mentor figure -- shake up his life a little bit. Then, of course, it got out as it always does. But, yes, this was our idea from the beginning."

Now while Doyle will die in the episode, it's unknown if the character has a future on the show.

Zentertainment also reports Angel star David Boreanaz will guest star on the Nov. 23 episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

House on Haunted Hill Review
Well we promised it to you and here it is [it's even early]...Really Scary's review of House on Haunted Hill.

Send Us Your Halloween Shots
Land yourself a Movie Maniacs II figure by entering our Really Scary Halloween Shoot 'Em Up Contest. Take some pictures this halloween using a digital camera, old fashioned film, whatever...just take some great shots of costumes, decorations or just general weirdness and send 'em in to us!

We'll pick out our favorite and send them a brand new Michael Myers Movie Maniacs II action figure. Our second favorite will nab themselves a Ghost Face from the Scream Movie Maniacs II line. And our third? Well, we haven't dug up the prize yet, but it'll be cool...maybe a little dirty, but definitely cool.

If the shots are digital and you think they may clog up our email, then just load 'em up somewhere and send us the URL [To prove the pics are yours, put "For Really Scary Contest" on the page with the photos]. If the size of the digital photo is small enough, then by all means send it to support@reallyscary.com [if you clog up our ISP, you're almost certainly not going to win]. You can also get your shots into us by regular mail. Just send them to:

Really Scary Halloween Contest

No polaroids please. Be sure to add your name, email address and regular address with the photos. Special thanks to ComicBomb [http://www.comicbomb.com] who donated the action figures. Drop by and give them your support. You have until Nov. 20 to get those photos to us and then we'll post our favorites and send out prizes! You can't beat that with a stick.

And in case you missed it, yesterday was the 21st anniversary of the opening of Halloween. [Does anybody else miss PJ Soles as much as we do?] So tonight, raise a glass [or beer bottle if you're uncultured heathens like us] and pay tribute to Mr. Myers!

McFarlane Movie Maniacs III Line Up!
