Really Scary Archives
10.06.99 New Sleepy Hollow Sketches Check out the official Sleepy Hollow site for new sketches from Tim Burton's soon to be classic! New sketches are posted every two days. Influenced by the British film studio Hammer and its new-expressionistic horror films of the '50s and '60s, Burton's drawings reflect this aesthetic.
10.01.99 Happy October 1st! So what if it's not an official holiday...we here at ReallyScary have dubbed it, well, what else, the Beginning of ReallyScary Month! To celebrate we're planning on watching AMC's great horror movie line up and then popping in a couple of "scare-the-baggy-pants-off-ya" DVDs! We're leaning toward Nightmare on Elm Street parts 1, 3 and New Nightmare.
Driver Who Hit Stephen King Indicted
The Oxford County grand jury found that Bryan E. Smith "did recklessly cause serious bodily injury to Stephen
King" as the author was walking along a country road June 19 in Lovell.
Aggravated assault carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The other charge could bring Smith up to six
months in prison.
King, who was walking against traffic while reading a book, was thrown 14 feet and suffered multiple broken bones
and a collapsed lung. He is recovering at his Bangor home. King has said he believes Smith is a danger to himself
and others and should not be allowed to drive.
Smith, 42, told police he lost control of his Dodge Caravan because he was distracted by his dog, and has called
the incident "an accident without a cause." Smith has said that he is very sorry for what happened, but that the
accident should not be treated as a crime.
District Attorney Norman Croteau said the case was not reviewed differently than any other case in which a
pedestrian was injured.
Linda Blair Hits a Couple of Haunted Houses
Blair, who is best known for her chilling portrayal of Regan MacNeil in the 1973 film about devil possession, will
make her rounds 8-11 p.m. today at the Fear Factory, in Houston, and 8-11 p.m. Saturday at the Haunted Hotel,
also in Houston.
Fans may bring items for Blair to autograph, and there is no charge to meet her.

The following Friday, Oct. 8, AMC will air The Fall of the House of Usher and Oct. 15 a double bill of Teenage Caveman and The Undead.
This is all leading up to a tremendous set of great horror movies kicking off Halloween weekend. We'll update you later this week so you can lay in a large supply of popcorn, soda and take time off work.

Godsmack Brews Up a Video
Wicca in the News:
April 1999: The U.S. Military makes history by acknowledging Wicca as
an accepted form of religion. Wiccan rituals are now allowed on
government property. Predictably enough, controversy ensues as local communities
protest this decision.
May 1999: The nation's largest record retailer pulls the
platinum-selling debut album by GODSMACK from their shelves. The
retailer cited the inclusion of a pentagram in the album packaging as
well as references to " ... witches in Salem" as grounds for removing
the album.
July 1999: The motion picture "Blair Witch Project" is released
nationally and earns $28.5 million at the box office in the first week.
The movie goes on to become one of the most profitable movie in motion picture
history by grossing over $108 million in less than four weeks.
GODSMACK will be hitting the road on their own headlining tour of
the U.S. beginning in mid-October (dates to be announced).
