A Veritable Cornucopia of Halloween News
Anyone who has pre-ordered the Halloween 5 DVD already knows this news, but for those that don't, the limited edition release has been delayed until Sept. 5. But, in the good news department, Halloweenmovies.com reports that Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is getting a DVD release. The release date is set for Oct. 10 and you can pre-order it from Amazon for $23.09 by clicking here.

And what would October be without Halloween showing somewhere? Those who live in or near Hollywood will have the chance to see the original Halloween theatrically. On Oct. 13, the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood will be showing the film, with John Carpenter and Debra Hill scheduled to speak at the event. The theater's website mentions that it's a new print.

Silence of the Lambs Screenwriter Tapped for Mucho Mojo
In absolutely outstanding news, Screen Writers Utopia reports Ted Tally (The Silence of the Lambs), has agreed, for a nice sum (seven figures!), to adapt Joe R. Lansdale's 1995 novel Mucho Mojo for New Line Cinema. The Oscar-winning scribe adapted McCarthy's best-selling novel All the Pretty Horses, which is due out later this year and stars Matt Damon with Billy Bob Thorton directing.

While you can purchase the book when you hear the snippets, those correctly guessing the mystery reader (previous guests have included Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Scott Wolf, Dolly Parton, and Orson Scott Card) through August 31 have a chance at prizes.

TNT Developing Deadman TV Movie
Variety reports (via Zen) TNT is developing a TV movie based on the DC Comics character Deadman, which could spin off into an on-going series. While the Deadman comic character is a murdered circus acrobat who can now take over the body of anyone he chooses, it appears the TV adaptation may go a different route, and involve a murdered stuntman who can inhabit the body of his nerdy accountant brother...yeah, sure, that sounds like an improvement.

Fox Extends Primetime Programming for Cameron's Angel
In a sign of the clout James Cameron wields on the Fox lot, Fox Broadcasting Co. will take the highly unusual step of extending its primetime programming into the 10-11 p.m. hour, which is usually reserved for Fox affiliates' local newscasts, to accommodate the two-hour Oct. 3 premiere of Cameron's new series Dark Angel, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Witchblade premieres on TNT Sunday

You can alos chat with Witchblade actor Will Yun Lee this Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET at TVGUIDE.COM.

Hannibal Release Date Set & Rough Cut Shown?
A Corona source passed along this information about Hannibal: Most likely release date is set for near Valentine's Day, 2001. Apparently, the big five (Scott, Mathieson, Lustig, and the DeLaurentiis') sat down to an early, early rough cut of the film, sans of course the parts yet to shoot, including Mason's estate, and the finale. It clocked in at nearly two hours.

Harry Potter Children Trio Photo
Variety reports an 11-year-old British boy, who played a young David Copperfield on BBC television, has nabbed the role of Harry Potter.

Daniel Radcliffe has been selected to play the title role in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the studio said on Monday.

The choice of Radcliffe to star as the plucky young wizard's apprentice capped an extensive talent search among thousands of kids eager for a part in the film, based on the first of four best-selling children's books by J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros. said.

In addition, British newcomers Emma Watson, 10, and Rupert Grint, 11, whose acting experience to date consists only of parts in school plays, will join the cast as Harry's two best friends at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry -- Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
