Tarantino Movie Shot on the Sly?
JoBlo.com recently ran this:
In this day and age, with the Internet, scoops, news reporters and tabloids as rampant as they are, could a bigtime Hollywood director actually shoot a movie, incognito, without anybody knowing about it before it comes out? Well, in one of the biggest RUMORS of the year, AICN reports that Quentin Tarantino has reportedly shot and completed a movie based on Elmore Leonard's Forty Lashes novel, a western, and is expected to release it in Cannes, France, in the next couple of months. When he shot it, who is in it and how all of this transpired is all "up in the air" at this point, but even more importantly, the whole "story" is COMPLETELY based in rumor at this point, so don't take any of it seriously.
Freakylinks Back for a Little While

A Bunch of Stephen King Adaptations Updates
DH reports Smilin' Jack Ruby talked with Mick Garris about his upcoming adaptation of
Stephen King's The Talisman that he'll be doing once he returns from a trip to Cuba with his wife. The four-hour mini-series will begin production on a date depending upon the length of the upcoming strikes, and after he plans to turn King's Riding the Bullet (which Garris has already adapted into a screenplay) into a theatrical feature. The Sun Dog IMAX project is
on hold, whilst Desperation may become a miniseries as CBS has approached him about it (but he usually works with ABC so will give them 'first dibs' as they say).

How to Goof Up a Classic
We ran across something we've been having way too much fun with and wanted you all to enjoy it as well. If you have Flash 4 (and if you don't, it's free, so go get it) you can edit your own version of the Hitchcock's classic Shower Scene and save it into an online gallery.
Endlessly imitated, the stabbing of Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho has become indelibly stamped on the American Psyche. The 48 second sequence has been studied by thousands of film students of the years, but only now can you cut your own version using the original footage, all online. Storyboarded by Saul Bass and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the original scene was edited by George Tomasini together with Hitchcock. See what you can do and how you stand up compared to the original. Click here to get started.
Buffy Spin-off In Works for the UK?
Cinescape reports that even as Buffy the Vampire Slayer's latest season kicks
into high gears towards its 100th episode and finale, as well as a move to UPN, word has it that there may be a limited series Buffy spin-off in the works for the UK.
While talking to Scifi.com, series co-executive producer Marti Noxon revealed, "There is the possibility of a limited series with the BBC, starring Anthony Head. It's not a done
deal, but this is in discussion. There's an idea of taking the Giles character and doing a limited series in Britain next year, maybe just a limited run...like a miniseries, perhaps,
turning into a series."
She adds, "It would be really awesome if it did happen, and I'm sure there'd be a way that people here would see it too. We'd hope."

Linda Blair Onboard for Hell Night Remake?
Rather than create a sequel to the movie Hell Night, Rue Morgue reports producer Bruce
Cohn Curtis was taken by the idea of remaking his 1981 Halloween-clone. I think for young people who haven’t seen [the original], the remake will be
a fun movie, he said. For the older ones, they’ll either go and see it or eventually rent it and they can have the two pictures side by side. It’ll be fun
to compare.
The big bonus will be Blair’s return to the genre. Apparently, she has be inundated with
offers since The Exorcist re-issue, but has turned all of them down with the exception of Hell Night. Rue Morgue says this might have something to do with the fact that
she was a partner in the original production.

More Buffy Move News
Corona's Test Patter reports Buffy's co-executive producer Marti Noxon recently talked with Sci-Fi Wire and revealed a few interesting details on how the show will end its run on the WB. It looks as though the Dawn-Glory storyline will be attended to within a three episode push that will bring an end to the current fifth season. Noxon admits the show will leave the WB with a bang.
"Because [the season finale will be] our 100th episode," Noxon said, "the last three episodes of the season are huge and very action-packed, and some momentous things will occur, but that's all I can say."
As for the recent speculation suggesting the show's production costs will be higher as a result of the new UPN deal, Noxon added..."Some of that money will go to pay back Fox's
[production] deficit. So it's not like we'll be getting all that for our budgets. We
probably would have seen larger budget cuts if we'd stayed at The WB. That
was one of the reasons why budget was such an issue..."
