Here's some Really Scary Playstation updates!

Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Baby!

Bruce Campbell recently talked with the Official Sony Playstation magazine (if you're a Playstation fan, definitely check out the latest issue as they've completely overhauled their design and content. It looks and reads great and there is a Tony Hawk 2 demo on the disk!) and had a few things to say about the upcoming video game and the Duke Nukem battle. (Here's a couple of screenshots for the upcoming game).

"It's fun to play the same character without having to be covered in blood. I can sit in a nice, clean air-conditioned booth and go, "Oooh! Ah! Ow! Oh!" instead of actually having to be there," Campbell said with a laugh.

Campbell said his involvement in the game is more than just the voice. He's there to make sure the true Evil Dead fan is going to go "Oh, cool!" He and Sam Raimi will also look to add some of the infamous one-liners that all of the movies are known for. Campbell has done voice work for other video games. When asked about the difference between working for those games and this one, Campbell says, "A lot of times when I do the other games, people are like 'Well, you should have sort of an attitude like Ash...but not Ash...but like Ash." He rolls his eyes. "So I try not to cough up all the old lines, I save them for this...plus hopefully a whole batch more that people can latch onto," he smirks, "and Duke Nukem can then borrow."

Playstation magazine adds Duke Nukem is notorious for "borrowing" Ash's one-liners.

"Look I don't have a problem with it. I made one comment about it, and I think the guys who did Duke Nukem sort of jumped all over it. I don't want to continue to fuel that silliness," Campbell said.

Clive Barker's Undying

Here's a tiny glimpse at a screen shot from the upcoming Clive Barker video game. It's expected to be released in the fall.

Timesplitters!

From the primary folks behind the N64 classic shooter GoldenEye 007, comes a new Playstation game called Timesplitters. This first person shooter's initial screen shots look great. They describe the game as spanning from the 1920s to the future and includes '70s cops, SWAT guys and zombies. Sounds good!

Other Games on the Horizon

Watch for Parasite Eve II coming sometime in September. Aya Brea takes on the insidious, self-aware Mitochondria once again and this time there is a revamped battle system, visible onscreen enemies and a more realistic real-time experience.

Also look for Dino Crisis 2 in October, Resident Evil Survivor in the Fall, Alien Resurrection late summer (we'll believe that when we see it, movie only came out a freakin' year ago!), and Vampire Hunter D based on the great anime series, is scheduled for an October release.
