Director Named for Preacher Movie?
Dr. Casey reports Rachel Talalay (Freddy's
Dead), who optioned a Preacher script by Garth Ennis back in 1998, which is based on his DC/Vertigo comic book, will direct the film for Storm Entertainment.
Reportedly based on the first four issues of the series, the story is about a reverend from the South who is empowered with the word of God.
Demonic Toys vs. Puppet Master Sneak Peek
Toy Mania has a picture of Full Moon Toys upcoming line of toys scheduled for later this year. It's based on a Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys concept, which will tie into the
movie coming out of the same name. Click here to see the photo.
Jhonen Vasquez Squeeze Toy. Oh Yeah!
From Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Squee, it's finally coming, and it's everything you hoped it would be. It's a weird looking, nubby-skeleton sort of thingy that squeaks when you squeeze it. The first toy tie-in from Jhonen Vasquez
comes with a specially designed box from Jhonen himself.
Just like in I Feel Sick, Spooky can be used to annoy the hell out
of your friends, neighbors, and mailmen! But all in good fun! It will have a suggested retail price of $9.95.
Blair Witch Kubricks? Planet of the Kubricks?

A Clockwork Kubrick? |
We ran across something very cool and somewhat unusual. There is a company in Japan called Media Com Toys and they produce a bunch of anime-type action figures. But they also produce a pretty cool looking line of Alien, Predator and Nightmare on Elm Street figures. We haven't seen these figures over here and expect that they're only distributed overseas but it looks like they're starting a new line of figures called Kubricks (there must be some sort of homage going on here, the logo for Kubricks look like the same color and font as Stanley used for A Clockwork Orange).

Blair Witch Kubricks |
Anyhoo, here's some photos of these cool little figures. They look a lot like Playmobil figures don't they? We also hear that Diamond Distributors may be releasing these, which means they should end up at your local neighborhood comic book store. Keep your eyes open.
It looks like a set will be based on the Blair Witch Project and several sets based on Planet of the Apes. We like 'em and we'll buy 'em!
