Craven's Red Eye Lead Almost Replaced

Wes Craven told the SF Gate that he wasn't convinced about casting Cillian Murphy as the terrorist in his latest flick Red Eye.

"From the start, I had misgivings," Craven says. "He had a strong Irish accent, but the script called for an American accent. Nevertheless, he asked to meet me, so we got together at a restaurant and I was taken instantly by his blazing blue eyes. One moment he was boyish and innocent, the next he looked and sounded like a thug. I was intrigued, but still worried. We started shooting, but he spoke slowly and sounded stupefied, with long, unnecessary pauses and labored mannerisms. I was about to replace him when suddenly he came to work after a long weekend and had the accent down pat -- with none of the affectations. So we went back and reshot the earlier material. And together we prevented a disaster."

"Do you know what's Really Scary? You want to forget something. Totally wipe it off your mind. But you never can. It can't go away, you see. And... and it follows you around like a ghost."
--Eun-ju, A Tale of Two Sisters

'Well, we need to nip this thing in the bud. I mean, otherwise, things are going to get Really Scary.'
--Cordelia Chase, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

'From here on, it gets Really Scary.'
--Geoffrey Rush, House on Haunted Hill

    'Wanna see something Really Scary?'
--Dan Aykroyd, Twilight Zone The Movie
